应九五至尊老品牌线路 可再生能源重点实验室和广东省新能源和可再生能源研究开发与应用重点实验室的邀请，加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学化学与生物工程系Anthony Lau副教授将于2017年12月5日来访并举行学术报告会。报告会安排如下：
报告题目：Biomass Feedstock Engineering
报告摘要: Biomass feedstock engineering may include the preprocessing, storage and quality management/improvement of lignocellulosic waste biomass, such as forest-origin residues, agricultural crop residues, and municipal wood waste. These are some of the major components of the biomass supply chain logistics. The long-term objectives of my research in the area of “Biomass feedstock engineering” are: 1) To quantify the relationship between the quality of waste biomass and the performance of different biomass conversion processes; 2) To develop a standard set of quality specifications for the solid biofuel that make them certifiable for a conversion facility; and 3) To develop strategies to reduce both cost and risk associated with waste biomass utilization by the bioenergy industry. Examples of my recent and current research in this area will be included in the presentation.
报告人简介：Anthony Lau obtained his BSc (Eng.) and MSc degrees in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada) and PhD degree in Bioresource Engineering from the University of British Columbia (BC, Canada). Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at UBC. He is a member of the China-Canada Joint Centre for BioEnergy Research and Innovation (C-CJCBERI), and a member of the Biomass and Bioenergy Research Group within the Clean Energy Research Center.
His research interest is in the area of organic waste management for resource recovery, focusing on two major sub-areas: 1) biomass feedstock engineering, and 2) bioconversion processes and systems. Biomass feedstock engineering may include the preprocessing, storage and quality management of lignocellulosic waste biomass as the major components of the biomass supply chain logistics. Studies on bioconversion processes and systems are primarily aerobic composting and anaerobic fermentation of non-woody waste biomass.
