Many view, save and even member options REALLY COOL!
We're still working out some bugs but it's still great. Let us know if we
can improve something to make it more informative or easier to navigate.

Because
our site is growing so fast as is our database and
galleries, w are in need of someone who knows asp,
cgi, php and/or javascript to help us use these web
tools to more efficiently access them from the web.
If you know someone who would offer some volunteer
assistance to us we would SO MUCH appreciate the
help.

We just
finished scanning, transcribing and processing many
documents related to the BOUGHNER, CRESS, EWING and
GALBRAITH families. Some of these documents were War
of 1812 war records, pension records, Newspaper
clippings, obituaries, Bible records, etc. We are
very excited about the records which were
contributed by Dorothy SIDLEY CRESS (Aunt Dot). Aunt
Dot has done some amazing and detailed research on
these family lines and several more over the years.
Her efforts and generosity is greatly appreciated by
us and our families.
We will
have all these documents and scans uploaded as soon
as we decide whether to upload them as albums or as
seperate documents accessed through individual
links.
"Bravo
Zulu" to you Aunt Dot. Thank you and we love you.

All
Galleries have been
revised in a more attractive format that is also
easier to navigate. Also 103 new pictures added to
the Levin Gallery.
These pictures were contributed by Rev. Edward Levin
and Doris Russell Levin.
A new
Early
U.S. Currency Gallery has been added to display
early forms of currency used in the U.S.
particularly during colonial times.
"U.S. History Corner"
section has been added to the right side of the main
pages or Home Page. This
section will be updated regularly with new U.S.
Historical facts and stories. We encourage anyone
who wishes to contribute facts or stories to
Submit Here. It is our hope that this site be
educational as well as genealogically informative.
Watch for updates and additions. Also, have you seen
our "Famous Peoples
Genealogy Section"? This section contains the
genealogies of many famous people (Biblical figures,
Presidents, Generals, Writers, Musicians, etc.) and
many contain biographies of the individuals.
SITE NEWS
- Our site has been active for 20 months on our
current web host. During this time, we have received
an impressive hit count of nearly 4 million and
average 2500-3200 hits per day. We are grateful for
all those who have visited our site and hope this
success continues. We will be looking for sponsors
for the site to help offset the cost to maintain the
site and continue the research that goes in to it.
At this time, we will NOT allow pop-ups or on the
site as we do not believe in "Forcing" anyone to
look at anything they didn't navigate to themselves.
However, we may place small ads in various places
around the site. These ads will in no way block,
pop-up, pop-under or interfere with the intended
content of the pages. We will stick to these rules
of our own as long as we can to keep this site up,
running, updated and FREE to the public, but we do
need to find a way to offset the cost involved.

The mystery of Callie Capes
Broaddrick has finally been solved. Callie's full
birth name was Nancy Sylvania Lucinda Carolyn Baty
(Callie short for Carolyn). Callie was born in 1873
in Calhoun County Alabama. Her parents were David
Alexander (Alex/Elec) Baty and Amanda Lawrence. In
September of 1888, Callie married Stephen Capes in
Blount County Alabama, this marriage produced 1
child (Jossie Capes). It has been told by one of
Callie's sons (George Broaddrick) that Callie's
brother killed her first husband (Stephen Capes) for
beating Callie and their daughter Jossie. The Blount
County AL records do state that Stephen Capes has
been found beaten to death but does not give the
date nor if the person responsible had been caught.
The lineage of Callie's mother (which goes back a
few hundred years and is well documented as it was
extensively researched) will be uploaded as soon as
I finish inputting the date into the database.
Callie's father's lineage still hasn't been found
yet. Census records have him being born in South
Carolina.
BLM (Bureau of Land
Management) records of property owned in Franklin
County by Broaddrick, Oliver, Taylor and Wooten's
has been added to the Broaddrick/Oliver Document
Gallery.

this document.
Information on the BATY line
(Callie BATY CAPES BROADDRICK) has been added to the
Gallery page as well.
this page which contains birth, death, marriage and
burial information on these family members
Amanda LAWRENCE (Callie's
mother) descendants has been added to the Gallery as
well.

this document which contains lots of information on
Callie's siblings and their children, etc.
I hope everyone likes the new
look of the Family Tree pages. Also the addition of
genealogy of "Famous People" which include
Presidents, Authors, Actors, Historical figures and
Biblical figures. I didn't research these lineages,
so I cannot state how accurate they are or aren't.
Interesting reading anyway as most of them do have a
Biography on the individual with references to the
sources.
the list of these "Famous People" and their
lineages.
I am currently working on
getting more pictures uploaded to the site.
Particularly of the Broaddrick/Oliver branches.
Watch for these pictures to be added to the
Broaddrick/Oliver photo
gallery.
On a recent trip to North
Carolina, Deborah received a lot of information on
her BOUGHNER ancestors from her Aunt Dorothy SIDLEY
CRESS. Including newspaper clippings, Civil war
records, births, marriages and deaths. Photo's of
this branch of Deborah's line will be coming soon as
well, hopefully.
Please be patient with some of
these updates as I have over 300 documents and over
100 photo's to add to the galleries. Not to mention
several hundred more ancestors and family members.
